Richard R. Pierce, MD, FAAD
Chief Executive Officer/Managing Partner
Dr. Pierce served as Staff Dermatologist for Central Dermatology Center in North Carolina and Womack Army Medical Center prior to founding Clearline Dermatology. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a U.S. Army Officer for over 14 years. Dr. Pierce has special interest in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

Casey M. Chern, MD, FAAD
Chief Medical Officer/Managing Partner
Dr. Chern was the Chief of Dermatology at Guthrie Ambulatory Health Care Clinic in upstate New York before coming to Clearline Dermatology. She also previously served as Associate Residency Program Director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in addition to being appointed to the White House Medical Treatment Team providing executive dermatologic services to White House Staff. Dr. Chern has special interest in medical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology as well as skin of color. When Dr. Chern is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young children exploring Charleston and the Lowcountry.

Caroline Buehler, MS, PA-C
Caroline studied graphic design and communication in her undergraduate studies, but shortly thereafter, a personal experience with melanoma redirected her journey into dermatology. In dermatology, she has been able to combine her innate artistic abilities with the medical specialty, which has served as an invaluable skill. After Physician Assistant training, she worked in dermatology in Maryland prior to relocating to Charleston.

Melissa Loeffler, MPAS, PA-C
Originally from Daytona Beach, FL, Melissa has extensive experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology since completion of Physician Assistant training. Before relocating to Charleston, SC, she worked at Wake Dermatology in NC. Since moving to Charleston, SC, Melissa has continued serving the skin care needs for the neighbors of the Charleston community.

Nancy Caballero
Director of Operations
Living most of her life in South Florida, Nancy discovered the Carolinas and has loved it! Nancy lived in Charlotte, NC for several years, and she recently relocated to Charleston and is excited to be here. She has extensive experience in Practice Management and loves working in the medical field. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her rescue dog and cat, exploring Charleston, outdoor photography, reading, and music.

Samantha Mathison, Medical Assistant
Sam has worked in dermatology since 2015 as a receptionist, transcriptionist, and front office manager. She has a strong interest in all roles in the medical office and is now adding medical assistant to her skill set. In her free time, Sam enjoys reading, writing, and exploring Charleston’s abundant nature. She is an animal lover and adores her rescue dog, Nala, and her rescue cat, Beerus.

Caroline Hills, Medical Assistant
Caroline is a native of Charleston, SC and is excited to be back in her hometown after recently graduating from the University of Georgia. She loves working with patients and ultimately wants to pursue future studies to become a certified Physician Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys going out on the boat, waterskiing, and cheering on UGA sports!

Amanda Prater, Medical Assistant
Amanda recently moved to Charleston after graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Genetics from the University of Georgia. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent her college summers as a beach patrol lifeguard in Hilton Head, SC. She plans to continue her education to become a Physician Assistant. She loves spending time outside, trying new restaurants, and making people smile.

Elizabeth is from Greenville, SC and just recently moved to Charleston after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She hopes to continue her education to become a Physician’s Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys being in nature and exploring the area.

Danielle Bach, Front Office Coordinator
Danielle was born in New York, raised in Florida, and now has found her way to South Carolina. She moved here with her Yorkiepoo, Bentley to be closer to family. She was a teacher for over 18 years and got into the medical industry back in 2018 after taking care of both of her parents. Danielle ultimately loves helping people and is completely satisfied with her career change. She is a huge pro and college football fan as well as a hockey fan, and her hobbies include painting and crafting. Danielle has fallen in love with Charleston and is excited to explore the wonderful sites if has to offer.
