Casey M. Chern, MD, FAAD
Dr. Chern is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, home of the Fighting Irish. She went on to complete medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Chern completed her specialty training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she trained together with Dr. Richard Pierce. After finishing training, she stayed on staff as the Associate Residency Program Director at the military's flagship hospital. During her tenure, Dr. Chern was hand-selected to the White House Medical Treatment Team providing executive dermatologic services to White House Staff. In her next assignment, Dr. Chern was entrusted to provide dermatologic specialty care as the only Staff Dermatologist at Fort Drum, NY. Given the rural environment of the North Country, Dr. Chern also provided care to the local civilian residents in partnership with the local hospital.
Having stayed closely in touch with Dr. Pierce since their time training together, Dr. Pierce offered an amazing opportunity to join him in private practice serving the residents of the Lowcountry. With the support of her family, Dr. Chern relocated to the Charleston area with her husband and three young children.
Dr. Chern enjoys providing comprehensive dermatologic care with special interest in medical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology as well as skin of color. When Dr. Chern isn't seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on Indiana colleges and professional sports teams.
